Hey there again. Can't believe June is almost over. The past weeks have been a lot more fun after finishing some school projects and not yet having to worry about exams. As already mentioned, my mom came to visit for a week, which made me look at Konstanz with a more touristy eye again and take tons of pictures everywhere (which is pretty much what this blog post is for). Introduced her to all the good things around here, that is das Voglhaus, Meersburg and their wine, Shamrock's 2 for 1 burgers, Mainau, Seerhein pancake sundays and all the books and history related things that she is a big fan of. And have to say, I'm very proud of her for completing my challenge to bike everywhere during her week here!

The weekend before she visited was the big flea market in Konstanz that takes place once a year and lasts for about 24 hours straight. We went in late on saturday when there was a thunderstorm outside, but people were still walking around with torches and all. The 10-kilometre flea market that went all the way over the border to Switzerland too, had literally everything. From fake iPhones to Lenin's works and defibrillators. Marius also got a real Späzle maker from the fifties, which meant a nice German dinner for us. Matt and I got ouserlves goblets for the Game of Thrones season finale. :D

I don't even know what else to say. The weather is reaching 30 degrees on some days already so I've been going on my little bike-run-icecream-swim triathlons and spent as much time outside as possible, eating ice cream and watching the little ducklings of Seerhein grow up. I finally got my allergy test taken too (after waiting for a doctor's appointment for a month!), so the quality of my life is 10 times better now and I can finally enjoy living in a country where summer actually exists, yay!

This weekend is for maybe being productive or mainly just derping around. So excuse the overload of pictures from all over the place again, including a beach day in Litzelstetten as well as our daytrip to Tübingen yesterday.

hello june /konstanz

Hey there again. I can't believe it's June already! I'm not even trying to say that anything has been easy but things are slowly getting back to normal again. The past month has been full of fun things to keep me busy too. First we had Matt's friend Zach visiting us from the US. Together we travelled to Erik and Hanna's wedding in Hohen Neuffen castle, which was a lot of fun. I mean... there were three courses of dessert and an open bar?! :D The whole thing took place in the castle up on a hill and lasted literally all day. I also did what all my friends told me to do and caught the bouquet, which took Matt a couple of weeks to mentally recover from, haha. So happy and thankful to Erik and Hanna for the invite to a real wedding pretty much for the first time in my life!

This week our dear friend Bethany finally came back to Konstanz for two weeks. As usual, she is trying to turn me into an American a little bit. This time it was root beer floats which, sadly, neither me or the Ukrainians, who were also here for a day, didn't like that much. Other than that, my room is now filled with all sorts of America-themed souvenirs that she brought over.

School has been somewhat challenging too, even though I decided to take it easy this semester. Tomorrow I'm also starting my C2 German language course, which will definately be... something. In any case, I hope to have my I-dont't-know-what-I'm-doing case study presentation behind me by the time Mom comes over to see me. Very excited about showing her our cute little Konstanz.

Oh, and a ferris wheel was in town!
