Mainau island

Yesterday was one of those real German sundays. For those who haven't found it out the bad way (Sunday hunger games, that is), school, work, shopping and such just not gonna happen here on Sundays. Everybody is supposed to stay home and have fun with the family. I don't really have my family here with me, but I do have Matt and Kyle, haha, so after hosting about 10 people over for pancakes in the morning, we went on a bike trip to Mainau. Turns out, I have been doing injustice to this paradise island the whole time! The flower parks and butterfly house and all can be so much fun. And the Mainau-puns, of course. :)

We're also second week into the new semester now. UniKonstanz is just so behind with the academic calendar, that while still sorting out what classes to take, my home Uni is already reminding me of reporting my grades. Everything hasn't gone as smoothly as I was hoping it would, though. Basically, University of Konstanz for dummies, Chapter One: Registration for classes here goes by the simple rule of some students being more equal than others. Erasmus people sadly aren't very high on that food chain. Whereas in E-Stonia, if you're too slow at the online-registration at midnight, you're simply out of luck, the period in Konstanz is a pure madhouse. So far I have witnessed the following methods of getting your name in the list: online registration, emails to the professor, complaining to the coordinators, showing up and lottery. And in the end, the one who figures out which one it is this time, wins. Fun times. :D

bin noch da!

Alright, here we go. Decided (read: mom is passively giving me hints to post something) to let you know that I'm still alive and häppy, like the Germans would say. The work and stress free Semesterferien is almost over, though, papers are done and a new schedule for the summer semester is more or less figured out. Looks like it's gonna be another fun one with 8am classes, but I'm looking forward to getting some of the work out of the way towards eventually graduating someday. Looking back at the beginning of the school year when everything was just utterly confusing, I'm glad to be a bit more confident about this semester. Actually knowing what's happening really adds up to the excitement, haha.

As for the past weeks, it's been mostly just hanging out in Konstanz. A little bit of work, a lotta bit of fun. Except for the week of hailstorms, I think, we've been on a strict diet of grill food and radler. I also spent a couple of days in München for Hanna's bridal shower last month and a busy day of shopping in Stuttgart with Matt yesterday.

Having a lot of free time a dangerous thing, though. My usual stroll through airline company web pages led to some middle-of-the-night flight booking with Kyle a couple of nights ago. It's probably the most random flight route there is around here, anyone wanna take a guess where we're heading?

I cut my hair short... :O                                                and my bf is so cooooool :3

Municipal bike auction that's held I think a couple times per year
to get rid of all the bikes that have been abandoned in the city.
